Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Working within the Design engineering team as a Designer, in close collaboration with the Service Engineering team and in conjunction with component owners / technology teams to undertake the development of products and services from concept to final release

  • Basic concept design work on packages, sub-systems and components in conjunction with the other departments, provide and support concept assessments and concept design reviews

  • Developing components or sub-systems of Gas Engines from concept/packaging phase to serial release autonomously as well as under supervision and guidance of lead and senior engineers by using DFSS and DFR principles with a strong focus on field issue resolution

  • Create and / or modify 3D models and 2D drawings in CATIA V5, build up assemblies and sub-assemblies, handle the complete data structure (BOM) following the engineering release process for including CCB preparation and item activation triggering for releasing the production BOM

  • Provide cost estimations for components and sub-systems together with other departments at executioner level, using should costing tools

  • Manage multiple Technical projects simultaneously, ensuring correct project definition resource planning and adherence to documented processes

  • Communicate frequently and within reasonable response times with the other relevant global departments inside and outside Technology to share all project information with GSCM/ Sourcing/ etc.

  • Support and where appropriate conduct Root cause analysis to ensure project deliverables and timescales are met

  • Provide technical support for field related issues and support customer site visits and meetings

  • Prepare written technical reports and present individual results and project progress within project design reviews and other forums within technology




QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor / Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or similar specialization

  • Fundamental knowledge regarding the development of reciprocating engines and their systems

  • Substantial knowledge in engineering mechanics, materials and manufacturing processes

  • Basic knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and strength calculations

  • Excellent knowledge in a 3D CAD tool, familiar with using database systems during the development and serializing process

  • Working knowledge of quality systems (ISO), tools (DFMEA, DVP) and techniques (DFSS, DFR)

  • Previous experience of exposure to modern design/simulation and data analysis techniques

  • Previous experience and knowledge regarding engine and component test and development techniques

  • You are comfortable in an international environment and have strong oral and written communication skills preferably in both English and German

  • Willingness to travel

  • Basic Skills in Microsoft Office Suite

  • You work for our customer, together in the team, on site - in the Kufstein area
