Job Description and Requirements

The client is looking for a senior software tester to conduct testing activities for the automotive lighting software products in the Paderborn Germany office. They are looking for someone who takes initiative, is responsible + passionate, and possesses strong communication skills. The candidate must have a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, be able to drive results, and have demonstrated that they are customer-focused. The role will be responsible for testing of software products developed in the Paderborn office, defining, assigning, and reviewing testing tasks and contributing as a tester; defining test plans for features, developing regression testcases and executing manual tests.

The candidate's key responsibilities include: - Developing test plans to validate new features, requirements, or user stories.
- Execute tests and log defects in bug tracking system
- Create automated test cases using in-house testcase system
- Participate in feature requirement and leading Acceptance Test Discussions
- Actively participate in test estimation and prioritization

Qualifications: - 5+ years' experience in software testing
- Expertise in QA methodologies, testing techniques and approaches
- Expertise in developing maintainable automated regression and performance tests.
- Proven experience with delivering high quality software products in a demanding commercial industry
- Ability to estimate work, develop test plans, and anticipate/ communicate project risks
- Excellent verbal + written communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate across local and remote teams - Bachelor's degree or higher in optics, lighting, computer science, or similar technical field
- Fluent in German and English

Knowledge and expertise in any of the following areas is a plus:
- Knowledge of Optics or Automotive Lighting and developing software for this industry
- Experience with automated test environment such as Squish, TestComplete, or AutoIt
- Experience with CATIA and/ or LucidShape
- Experience working for an international organization
- Well-versed in agile development methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum
