Description

Role: Mechanical Supervisor
Rate: £23/hour
Location: Minley
Duration: 3 months

Main Tasks:

  • Plan, develop and lead mechanical maintenance staff in the delivery of planned, reactive, and remedial maintenance services to all mechanical systems and equipment, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, water hygiene and treatment, sanitary and drainage systems, powered access and gate/locking systems, and all associated components across the Estate.
  • Identify improvements in mechanical services to the Estate, develop supporting business cases as required, and upon approval, plan and implement cost effective solutions, supporting the company's environmental and sustainability objectives.
  • Identification and planning of a programme of training in mechanical systems and equipment to colleagues, auditors, inspectors and third parties as required.
  • Co-ordination and supervision of day to day site checks, monitoring of controls, processing of work orders, and management of repairs as required in support of the company's service level obligations.
  • Working with management colleagues, identify develop and implement appropriate maintenance strategy for the Estate, promoting business focused maintenance, and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in delivering contractual service levels (SLAs and KPIs).
  • Delivery of site wide programme of predictive maintenance for mechanical systems, in line with company asset management improvement plan, and life cycle planning, focused on improving asset reliability and longevity.
  • Development and management of site wide budget for mechanical services, including costs of third-party contractors and consultants.
  • Provision of operational reporting relating to mechanical services as required by management team.
  • Identification, development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for mechanical services across the Estate.
  • Management of implementation of mechanical systems and equipment upgrades, and replacements as required.
  • Responsibility for maintenance of accurate and up to date inventory for mechanical systems and equipment supplies.
  • Ensure the company's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) remains accurate and up to date in relation to mechanical services.
  • Develop and maintain over time accurate mechanical systems drawings for site wide mechanical installations.
  • Flexible approach to working outside normal working hours and taking part in the On-Call rota.
  • Promotion of best practice in health and safety in the workplace, including training to colleagues as required by the company.
  • Undertake personal professional development and attend statutory and regulatory training as required for the role.
  • Ensure company health, safety and environmental procedures are always implemented and complied.
  • Complete any other tasks that are deemed within your area of competence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum five years in similar working environment, with minimum three years of mechanical services operational delivery.
  • Qualified to City & Guilds, HNC (or equivalent) as a minimum in relevant discipline.
  • Completion of apprenticeship in mechanical/building services engineering.
  • In depth understanding of wide range of mechanical installations and building services engineering.
  • Experience in producing and evaluating Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Experience in supervising and/or managing mechanical installations projects.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (including Maths & English).
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages (minimum Word & Excel).
  • Hold a driving licence suitable for use in the UK.
  • Proven track record of working within a busy customer focused organisation.
  • Qualified IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations 2015 and any further amendments.
