VMware Virtualisation Operations Engineer - Storage / Cloud - This is a long term contract opportunity to join a globally operating Basel based company in the financial sector.Your experience/skills:
- Extensive VMware experience in creating, maintaining and operating strong virtualisation platforms
- Proven track record and a strong background of datacentre technologies, requirements and processes is vital
- Know-how of Storage and Infrastructure in a virtualisation context along with cloud based technologies including experience with Azure and AWS which are a plus
- Competency with converged infrastructure and software defined network and storage technologies
- Skillset including experience with Veeam and other backup solutions while used in a virtualised environment is requested plus knowledge with system deployment automation and NetApp storage systems for CIFS and NFS are advantageous
- Familiarity with 2nd and 3rd level support
- Languages: English, fluent in written and spoken
Your tasks:
- Technical input and support in major Infrastructure projects, including technology reviews and renewals
- Monitoring and following ITIL-based change management procedures and actions
- Providing 2nd and 3rd level support and plan input in an enterprise setting
- Working with external vendors
- Preparing and producing technical documentations
- Assisting and working with incident and problem management
