Background:
Our client is currently restructuring its IT organization. As a part of these activities there will be a definition of a full service portfolio, including all dependencies between infrastructure and business services, as well as the build-up of OLA and SLA chains to ensure in-quality delivery of all IT services towards all of the clients businesses.
Thus we are looking for an experienced consultant, who will assist in this process in the area of data center infrastructure, storage and backup / restore. In general, the consultant is supposed to act as a right-hand man for the Service Owner, who is responsible for the following services: Cloud Management (Azure), Data Center Infrastructure, Storage, Server Hosting & Management (Linux, Windows), Backup / Restore, File.
Tasks:
- Review of current back-up environment and derivation of possible improvement measures
- In-depth discovery of technological set-up of the above-mentioned services and derivation
of possible improvement measures
- Review of existing contracts with providers for the above-mentioned services
- Review of current ServiceNow request fulfillment workflows for these services
- Answering of day-to-day queries from operations teams around the above-mentioned
services
Skills:
- Supplier management experience
- Structured and independent working style
- Analytical and conceptual skills and quick perception
- Expert for on-prem, hybrid and cloud infrastructure
- Profound knowledge with regards to Microsoft Azure
- Profound knowledge with regards to VMWare (ESXi, vRealize)
- Profound knowledge with regards to Backup Software (preferably Veritas Netbackup)
- Profound knowledge with regards to distributed file systems (DFS)
- Preferable experience with ServiceNow Request Fulfillment
