SQL Database Administrator
London, Docklands
£480 - £510 per day (inside IR35)
On behalf of a Docklands based Leading financial services organisation, I am seeking a highly experienced SQL DBA with an extensive background in supporting a 24x7 hosted environment. The role will be offered on an initial 6-month contract.
Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support for the SQL database infrastructure in the company's 24x7 hosted environment.
- Work closely with other support teams to ensure that database environments are supported and managed to the highest standard by following industry best practice.
- Actively contribute to the development of existing and new process and procedures to enhance Database service life cycle stages.
- Demonstrate self-starter capabilities identifying areas of improvement to address the needs of the business.
Experience/Skills required:
- Must have strong experience of supporting enterprise SQL environments eg SQL 2019, SQL 2016 and SQL 2012.
- Must have strong understanding of SQL clustering in geo-cluster environment, Always-On and SQL server replication.
- Must have experience of SQL performance and monitoring tuning.
- Must have strong experience of managing production support activities for business-critical services.
- Must have experience of working in a regulated and secure environment.
- Must have excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
- Must have experience of interacting with key business users and groups
- Must have excellent time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of ITIL framework (understanding of Incident, Problem, Change and service request).
- Has experience of delivering service improvement across technology products and operational processes.
- Has experience of working with ITSM systems and an understands priorities and SLA's.
- Has experience in deploying SSIS packages.
- Has experience administering VLDB on SQL Server.
- Has experience to support SQL Server reporting service and Integration service.
- Has experience working weekend and on-call support.
