Description
The D2D Support Engineer role is part of the “Virtualized and Cloud Infrastructure Services” team that supports both the Legacy (Storage, Backup and Archive, Distributed compute) and new generation (Converged (VBlock), Hyper-Converged (Nutanix), Hypervisor (VMWARE)) technical infrastructures.The primary focus of this position is centred on the day-to-day support of the Converged and HyperConverged infrastructures, Storage Area Network, Backup and Archive Solutions and Hypervisor technology in a 24/7 production environment.
This includes also the industrialisation of the creation of Virtual machines, the implementation of the right replication scheme for the different services and finally the design of the migration path to internal or/an external Cloud technology.
Essential Functions :
• Provide day-to-day support and regular 24/7 watch duty for the below infrastructure items :
o Storage Controllers : EMC VMAX2, VNX1, VNX2 (legacy infra) and VMAX3, VNXe (new Infra)
o NAS Controllers : Dell-EMC and Hitachi NAS Compute and Storage areas
o CI (VBlock) Infrastructure : Cisco Compute, Cisco Switches and Dell-EMC Storage components
o HCI (Nutanix) Infrastructure
o Current Compute Legacy Hardware
o All technical software used to manage the above Hardware (Nutanix, ViPR, Vcenter …)
o The VMware Hypervisor layer
• Participate to occasional weekend work related to infrastructure changes and disaster recovery testing and management (RDR, SWP, LDR, Zoning macro, …);
• Offer a HW and hypervisor service to “OS” teams (Windows, Linux, Office, Tandem, Mainframe), help in Virtual Machine built, …;
• Interaction with Computer Room and Network teams for implementation and evolution;
• Participate to the migration of organisation to internal and external clouds;
Technical skills:
• Proven experience in the IT world with Distributed systems (Converged, Hyper-Converged infrastructure) and storage
• Languages: English mandatory (fluent), French or Dutch is an asset Complimentary Experience &
Competences:
• Understanding of Network technical environment is an asset
