Description
SQL Server Developer with extensive experience using T-SQL is required by our client, within the Lloyd's Insurance market. You will be able to demonstrate excellent SQL Server database development expertise for project and support work in an organisational environment undergoing significant process and technology changes. You will join an in-house database development team, initially working almost exclusively on a financial systems project with a heavy program of change taking the lead in support and continuous improvement for the product. Additional aspects of the role will include BAU SQL Server development support activities and further involvement in the program of change which is focused on core systems replacement and a cloud-first principle.
Typically working at the T-SQL coding level, and interacting not only with other database developers, but also Front End developers and BI specialists, the role will involve interaction with business teams as well as analysts and project managers.
As the change programme progresses in the future there will be an opportunity to become involved in the migration of SQL Server systems to the cloud as well as engage with cloud-based development environments and toolsets.
You will be able to demonstrate -
- TSQL development including schema design & coding;
- Performance analysis & tuning;
- Management of SQL Agent job management & replication
- SQL Server environment management (not DBA-level, but experience with linked Servers and technical awareness of SQL Server in the VMWare environment)
- SSIS/SSRS
- Knowledge of SSAS and data warehouse development principles (hands-on experience is desirable, but not essential)
- Lloyd's/London Markets experience is a must have
