Description

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Develop, maintain and support of ETL routines managed in a cloud-based environment
* Design, code and testing of data infrastructure
* Contribute to the architecture of the data infrastructure supporting data service provision
* Ensure that appropriate data quality, integrity and alerting is built into all solutions
* Work in an Agile Kanban environment and assist with managing the DevOps processes for Data, and any tooling that guides the processes
* Collaborate with business subject matter experts to understand the organisation's essential data requirements and to understand the organisation's data assets
* Understand the data flows
* Assessment and evaluation of any proposed data/system changes that might impact data performance, models or reports and recommend amendments if required
* Provide and maintain documentation of systems and system related processes
* Review technical work of peers
* Support development of processes that ensure standards and procedures are correctly applied and take responsibility for the quality of own work
* Report on progress and escalate issues in a timely manner.

Essential skills include:
* Extensive ETL/ELT development project experience using the Talend Data Fabric
* Experience of architecting/designing, developing and building ETL pipelines
* Knowledge of MySQL and SQL Server databases with the ability to query multiple databases
* Ability in report design, development and testing
* Experience of relational database design, including physical, canonical and logical design
* Ability to work to industry standard Data warehousing principles and data design
* Ability to develop and deliver end-to-end data warehouse solutions, either as part of an overall team or working under your own supervision
* Ability to take ownership on a development activity and being the main contact point
* Knowledge of Cloud based platforms
* Experience of working with MS Office products, especially MS Excel
* Ability to communicate widely and effectively both verbally and written. Ability to give technical advice and recommendations as required
* Ability to take initiative and be innovative with an analytical mind/problem-solving aptitude
* Ability to thrive in an agile/changing environment in response to the demands of the business
* Ability to work accurately under time pressure and to make impartial and well-considered judgments in complex situations as and when required
* Manage deadlines and multiple priorities, including stakeholder expectations and competing demands
* Knowledge of varied software development tools, methods and technologies
* Experience of all aspects of the full software life cycle
* VBA Experience

Desirable skills:
* Java/Python/HTML coding experience
* Experience working with REST, SOAP, XML APIs to integrate data and systems
* Experience working with one or more BI tools
* Experience of working with Linux (Debian) operating system
