Linux System Administrator - Working on a 'Big Data' for cyber project. The Linux System Administrators are a key part of the Operations Team based out of Corsham and are responsible for the maintenance and administration of the platform. The System Administrators ensure that all services are running effectively and are critical to the operational delivery of the service. Will monitor the system for health and compliance and troubleshoot to solve any problems that arise, calling out to other parties to work together on issues. Will have Linux experience and will manage and administer anti-virus, system back up and monitoring tools. Will be familiar with tools such as git, ssh, Linux command line and Bash.
Able to write documentation detailing routine system administrative tasks such as restoring services from back-ups, how to restart services or troubleshoot them etc.
A passion for learning new technologies and innovation.
Desirable:
Networking familiarity - eg, can describe HTTP protocol, TCP/IP.
Able to write or understand scripts using Python or Bash.
Experience of automation/configuration management (ie Ansible) would be a bonus.
Candidates must have SC level security clearance as a minimum, happy to transfer a DV Clearance if required
