Description

Introduction

These are exciting times at MOJ Digital and Technology. We have a clear vision - to develop a digitally-enabled justice system that works more simply for users - and we're looking for talented people to help us achieve it.

We're making things better by building adaptable, effective services and making systems that are simple to use for staff and citizens. It can be challenging but it's also important and rewarding.

The role

Our software developers are a member of multidisciplinary teams, they write code and operate software in either our Prison or Probation service areas.

They work with user researchers, product managers, designers, business analysts, delivery managers and content specialists who share a vision for making better government through smarter use of technology.

We innovate to radically transform public services for the better.

We use:

  • The MoJ Cloud platform as our strategic hosting provider
  • We use Github to store and manage our code
  • We use CircleCI to build our software and use a CircleCI orb to standardise our approach
  • We use HMPPS Auth as our strategic Authentication solution
  • We use Azure Application Insights for our Application and performance monitoring and logging
  • We build our Back End services in kotlin
  • We build our Front End Server Side applications in Typescript using the GOV.UK Design System
  • We have adopted a range of best practices and standards

Our architecture:

  • We favour distributed software architecture when building applications
  • We use right size' services when designing our products and services.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate experience with the above tech stack. If your CV is considered, you will be sent a technical test to complete via GitHub by the hiring manager.

Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check.

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

Candidates will be subject to UK immigration requirements as well as Civil Service nationality rules.
