Working with a leading Security, DevOps, DevSecOps specialist consultancy to secure the services of a Lead DevOps Tooling consultant for a global energy client based in London

Job Description

We are looking for a DevOps Solutions consultant with a business analyst/architect mind-set to work for an exciting client. The DevOps consultant will need strong DevOps and SRE experience with broad software development knowledge and in-depth understanding of DevOps and SRE principles and CI/CD tooling as well as understanding business drivers.

The Senior DevOps solution consultant will be focused on shaping customer engagement by working closely with multiple business groups translating business needs into use cases and functional designs and developing common foundation architecture solutions that conform to known successful patterns that support evolution toward the future-state architecture. Responsibilities will include preparing high-level solution documents and engaging with stakeholders and collaborating across functional teams, you will play a key part in enabling the organisation's future-state business capabilities.

Experience we are looking for:

  • Setting Direction and Strategy for the DevOps tooling team.
  • Experience in Team Management and training of DevOps teams to follow best practices in DevOps and SRE principles and procedures to minimize the number of errors and incidents.
  • Thorough understanding of SDLC (agile/waterfall) methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
  • Focus on pipeline automation, continuous integration, and reliability engineering processes and methodology to support delivered services.
  • Strong experience in infrastructure management and monitoring.
  • Adept at communicating to business users to understand gaps and how services can improve efficiencies and add value.
  • Strong DevOps CI/CD tooling experience in cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Strong Public Cloud technology (Ideally Azure+ 1 of Google Cloud or AWS).
  • Solid Python and other Scripting languages.
  • The ability to identify, assess and integrate various open-source technologies and cloud services.
  • A background in building and testing code as well as in operations.
  • Supportive and collaborative management abilities in a team environment, as well as proven customer-facing management skills.
  • Continuous integration and automated deployments within Azure DevOps.
  • PowerShell, ARM Templates, Azure CLI, Terraform.
  • Design and development of N-tier, SOA & Microservice applications.
  • Experienced in Full Life Cycle Development (Agile & Waterfall)
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
  • Experience working with distributed/virtual delivery teams and 3rd party software houses
