Title: Manufacturing Engineer Part Time
Location: Coventry
Duration: 4 months
Rate: £225 p/day PAYE

Position Summary:
Manufacturing engineer required for a large precision aerospace component manufacturer.
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting on-going development, process improvements and transition activities.

Qualification and Experience:
- Ideally Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or at least 5 years' experience as a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, NPI Engineer or Production Engineer. An understanding of fluid systems and fluid test rigs would be desirable. Any other relevant engineering experience shall be considered.
- Health and Safety qualifications are a bonus (ie NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma)
- Maintenance management experience is a bonus

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be able to perform following tasks as required
- Ensure Processes and future methods of manufacture are capable to achieve the required level of readiness for transition.
- Work in a team based environment to develop production concepts
- Ensure machine scoping is carried out taking into account required end characteristics.
- Industrialise new equipment, specifically: -
o Pre-Design Review
o Technical Review
o Capability Validation .v. CMMs
o Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
o Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
o Equipment Commissioning
- Generate Standard Operating procedures
- Support production area/cell in resolving technical issues
- Generate KPIs on periodic basis
- Review and co-ordinate with other functions to close out actions arising within an agreed time frame
- Analyse existing manufacturing processes through suitable studies, suggest and implement improvements
- Participate in Value Stream Mapping and 3P events involving cross functional teams and contribute in designing and optimizing process flow
- Machine/process capability assessment

Desirable skills:
- Knowledge of aerospace documentation and component maintenance.
- Knowledge of fluid systems and test rigs.
- Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
- Production Transfer experience.
- Six Sigma Green belt Trained or accredited or equivalent lean skills.
- 8D Problem solving skills and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
