Technical IAM Consultant (Hands on Infrastructure Controls)
Retail
Remote with occasional travel to Welwyn Garden City

£650 - £750 per day
As a Technical IAM Analyst specialising in infrastructure, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with our security policies and technical standards across key technologies. These include both cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure, and cover different operating systems (Windows and Linux) and databases (SQL, Oracle, Couchbase.)
This role will require the candidate to work with both engineering and infrastructure teams across the group in order to investigate, understand and remediate non-compliant configurations. This requires a strong problem-solving attitude in order to understand the technical reasons for current configurations and propose solutions which are in line with established technical standards.
A passion for data is key to this role: the scale and complexity of the company infrastructure estate require an eye for detail in analysing and identifying novel controls issues. We are looking to continuously evolve the controls and technical standards applied to our infrastructure as our understanding of current configuration patterns improve: a problem-seeking attitude of continuous improvement will be an important quality to succeed in this role.
Key Skills and Experience:
You'll need to have a strong knowledge including detailed understanding of access management processes in at least three of the following areas:
- Azure Cloud
- AWS Cloud
- Oracle Cloud
- Active Directory
- Windows Server
- MS SQL server
- Linux operating systems
- Oracle Database
You'll need to have demonstrated experience of:
- Applying key Identity and Access Management controls in an infrastructure setting.
- Use of coding languages to analyse and make changes such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, SQL.
- Experience using SIEM and other management tools such as Splunk, ticketing tools, change control tools.
- An analytical mindset; demonstrated ability to break down and analyse complex problems to gain insight using large-scale datasets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills: articulating insight gained through data analysis to team members and those outside the team; making recommendations for next steps and remedial actions/improvements.
- Attention to detail and the ability to spot trends in data.
- A broad understanding of security concepts; an interest and passion for Cyber Security.
- An ability to effectively prioritise your work given conflicting demands.
- Reporting progress to stakeholders on a regular basis
- Showing consistently high energy levels; aspiring to make a significant difference over and above your core responsibilities.
- Bachelors degree or demonstrable experience required; postgraduate degree desirable
