Security Software Asset Analyst (Software Licence/TTL)

£450 - £500 per day

The role:

To provide a range of project and process analytical support to the project lead for the recent rollout of privileged access Workstation/Transmission Test Laptops (TTL). This will involve implementing interim TTL support processes to catalogue and manage software and licences while working with the OT Service Model team to ensure TTL requirements are delivered in the enduring solution. Support assurance activities and provide risk-based guidance to operations and third-party vendors.

Key accountabilities:

  • Catalogue soft assets and licenses that resides on OT clients, Engineering workstations and utility workstations
  • Assess assets and capabilities, that are standalone and candidates for migration
  • Manage the collation and storage of the software and their associated attributes in line with business usage
  • License management optimisation, working with internal teams and vendors to understand current position, constraints and opportunities to maximise investment
  • Provide support to coordinate SMEs, Network Engineering and Operations on software deployment
  • Leverage and build software deployment library to support OT client journey
  • Evaluate and utilise Enterprise deployment capability technologies to enable software packaging (configurations & Installations)
  • Develop, test and maintain software packages for distribution to users
  • Own and prioritise workloads, working on project and with the business to understand requirements & functionality
  • Consider wider OT Service Model impacts and future state architecture
  • Provide reporting in relation to delivery and quality targets related to the scope of works
  • Define 'As-Is' and recommend 'To-Be' Software, Services and Processes directly impacted or influencing user experience & business needs
  • Impact assess policies, SOP's and training to ensure changes are reflective
  • Updated starters, mover, leavers services and processes for our new TTL estate and user community

Knowledge and experience:

Essential:

  • Good interpersonal skills, with proven ability in developing strong working relationships quickly and effectively, strong negotiating and influencing skills across all levels of the organisation including external stakeholders
  • Analytical approach to work, ability to ask the right questions to ensure requirements and rationale are well understood
  • Ability to communicate effectively, and convey complex issues in a clear and concise manner, make persuasive presentations for internal or external audiences at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership as well as working within a wider team
  • Knowledge of IT software and licence consolidation and management
  • Knowledge in packaging, repackaging and automating software installations for a range of proprietary software using software packaging technologies.
  • Knowledge of Legacy, virtualised and modern windows operating systems
  • Ability to prioritise activities and use the appropriate tools and resources

Desirable:

  • Technical and Business Analysis experience
  • Configuration & release management
  • Application virtualisation Technology & TCP/IP Networking
  • Experience of producing integration test scripts
  • Powershell Scripting
  • Advanced Windows installer/MSI experience
  • Support project management and assist with the monitoring of progress against approved scope of works, costs and delivery and ensure that any changes are managed with stakeholder agreement within governance
  • Provide interim gaps analysis, risks, deployment/remediation plan including any interim processes
