We are currently supporting our world leading Travel Agency client to recruit a Security Engineer for an initial 6 months contract assignment based in London. (Duration is very likely to extend)The role is office based however can offer some days of remote work.

The role is inside IR35

Overall Purpose of Role:

Working in conjunction with IT Team's we are looking for an experienced Enterprise Security Engineer with broad expertise in designing and maintaining a best in class security stack within the Trust & Security team. The engineer will be a close partner with Security, IT, and other technical and non-technical teams throughout the company. They will implement and improve security related workflows, solutions, and will be a key contributor to the overall security posture of the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Setup, deploy, and maintain various Enterprise focused security technologies
  • Develop and foster empathy for employees, customers, and stakeholders, and balance security with business requirements
  • Work cross functionally with multiple teams and service owners to drive program goals to completion within designated SLAs
  • Provide recommendations and assist in the remediation and hardening of various systems
  • Document processes and procedures to ensure compliance and quality of Enterprise Security Program standard operating procedures
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned

This role has no supervisory responsibilities. However, as a senior contributor, you will be expected to train, mentor, and share knowledge with fellow teammates.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

In addition to the performance of respective responsibilities, execute on the following:

  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and providers
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts cross-functionally

Technical skills and experience:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Enterprise Security and IT technologies and systems such as EDR, Firewall, DLP, SIEM, IDS/IPS, VPN, SAML, TCP/IP, malware analysis & IAM
  • Strong familiarity with server and endpoint operating systems, SaaS application technologies, cloud provider ecosystems, and traditional networked environments
  • Knowledge of system hardening and security architecture best practices
  • Experience with common Scripting languages such as BASH, python, or PowerShell
  • Ability to function effectively and professionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Very strong detail orientation; ability to maintain focus
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; Prioritization and deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and managing multiple projects/priorities daily
  • Work and communicate effectively with others.

Working hours and travel:

The IT Operations Team covers core UK business hours (08:00 - 18:30) with 8.5x hr working day (including 1x hour break-time). The role will be primarily based at our Farringdon St office in central London, but may enable some agile working as we continue to adapt to working under Covid-19 Government guidance.
