Description

We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a prestigious Global Consultancy who require a Platform Engineer for one of their Clients based in Southend, UK.

Typical aspects of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Interpret architectural requirements into engineered solution.
  • Collaborate with Project and Delivery teams to design and engineer effective solutions that meets requirements. Solution includes platform configuration requirements, engineered components for target platform, code deployment approach and design of interfaces to other systems.
  • Produce technical documentation to meet project requirements for the build and configuration of the solution.
  • Build* and configuration of all platforms utilising technical documentation from design phase.
  • Deployment and integration of software code and COTS products into target platform via agreed deployment approach.
  • Configuration of interfaces with other systems.
  • Record the changes to the platform, and update the relevant documentation.
  • Testing of end to end integration and investigation and resolution of any issues.
  • Ongoing support of platforms.
  • Contribute to technical innovation.
  • Engineer automation and Scripting to ensure repeatable and industrialised processes.
  • Identify the implementation of tools and process improvements.
  • Support the technical resources and activities within the Delivery teams.
  • Provide technical direction to the Delivery teams and projects..The definition of build is any action that changes the baseline state of a platform in some way. eg the installation a new version of application code, new builds, infrastructure upgrades or scripts which modify operating parameters.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of specific specialisms, and provides expert advice regarding their application. Can supervise specialist consultancy. The specialism can be any aspect of information or communication technology, technique, method, product or application area.
  • Designs and builds platform components and interfaces.
  • Leads practical integration work under the technical direction of the Solutions Architect.
  • May contribute to the overall design of the service. May define the technical criteria for product/component selection.
  • Contributes to decisions about tools, methods and approaches.
