Job Title: Infrastructure Solution Designer

Inside IR35
Location: Leeds, UK
Department/Practice: Transformation
Job Purpose and primary objectives:
Provide end-to-end design across allocated change; analyse the functional and non-functional requirements in accordance with the overall system architecture.
Key responsibilities (please specify if the position is an individual one or part of a team):
. Responsible for technical and design input on a wide variety of infrastructure projects, Starting with initial high-level design and estimate, through to the final detailed solution ready for provisioning
. Translation of the business and operation requirements into the IT infrastructure technical specification, and end-to-end & cross-technology design
. Responsible for data networking and IT design life cycle activities, from requirement analysis to conceptual design, detail design, Integration
. Analysis of the technical and financial impact of projects on the IT infrastructure and processes.
. Ensure security/governance is factored in at the design stage
. Lead the technical analysis & design activities across allocated change initiatives to ensure solutions are efficient, modular, standards compliant and designed according to the long-term architecture, road and capability maps.
. Review solution options to assess impact of new requirements on existing functionality, data and systems including alternative design scenarios. Perform gap analysis between current and future state applications/systems.
. Accountable for the translation of non-functional requirements into appropriate designs/models for change initiatives whilst maximising return on investment.
. Create appropriate documentation to clearly articulate designs, including interfaces, inputs, outputs, actors & owners. Ensure requirements traceability is part of design and delivery activities.
. Maintain an awareness of industry trends, innovations and technological developments in architecture, analysis & design.
. Ability to perform an POC along with automated tools & frameworks before proposing as solution options.
Key Skills/Knowledge:
. Extensive experience with VMWare technologies and architecture, and containers environment;
. Experience in SIEM and CyberArk integration.
. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to manage and resolve risk and competing/conflicting priorities
. Excellent planning, coordinating and organising skills
. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server platform, MS Active Directory
. Network infrastructure ie DNS, DHCP, Subnets/vLANs
. Security, encryption and information security tools
Experience required:
. Proven experience in Integration of various complex systems
. Ability to provide detailed infrastructure designs to industry best practices
. Low level infrastructure design practices, standards and governance
. Deep understanding on Server OS platforms (including Microsoft Windows Server, Linux), network, connectivity, Firewall, load balancer, Disaster Recovery/BCP, Database (Oracle/SQL), Middleware, etc
. Experience designing and supporting complex network solutions in a large organization
. Advance knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, Storage & Backup
. Experience working within Agile & Waterfall project methodologies in a large scale or complex IT environment.
. Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills, with the ability to effectively influence others
. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
. Accustomed to working on multiple projects at the same time
