Job Title: Java Developer
Location: Fully Remote
Salary/Rate: £504 per day (Inside IR35)
Job Type: Contract
Length: 6 months Initially
If you are a Java Developer looking for an exciting new contract opportunity, we have a great role for you. One of our UK Consultancy clients are looking for a Java Developer to join their team.
You would be working on knowledge documentation, handover and training tasks. You will assist the API development team to provide comprehensive documentation regarding the existing API services to facilitate the migration of support responsibilities.
This will require a flexible approach to carry out the following tasks:
* Analyse and understand the existing services and produce appropriate documents and run books to enable first and second line support services to assume responsibility for day-to-day maintenance
* Respond to alerts and work with support and infrastructure teams to ensure service levels are met
* Understand the existing code base and provide solutions for vulnerable or non-compliant code
* Participate in team agile processes and provide support wherever required
Requirements
* Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Have an analytical approach and a disciplined, methodical approach to ensure full coverage
* Have in depth knowledge of Java and frameworks to provide RESTful API services
* Familiarity with code versioning platforms and practices
* Understand testing practices and platforms
* Understand coding best practices and be able to spot non-compliant code within the codebase
* Be familiar with CI/CD principles and understand the build and deploy pipelines
* Have knowledge of containerisation and container orchestration platforms
* Be familiar with Cloud hosting solutions, especially AWS
* Be able to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
* Have a flexible approach to and be able to work with minimal supervision
