This demanding role involves developing some of the highest performing digital communication payload equipment available anywhere in the world, and be part of the rapidly expanding UK space sector.
Job Profile
Main tasks and responsibilities will include -
- Layout complex high-speed digital printed circuit boards from approved schematics.
- Work within the framework of company standards, procedures, and processes and maintain design files for all work undertaken.
- Support electrical analyses of their PCB designs with the schematic engineer.
- Liaise with manufacturing engineers to implement Design for Manufacture.
- Produce design data and documentation including PCB drawings, drill drawings, solder stencils etc.
- Approval and release of designs within a PDM system (Windchill)
- Manage their time in accordance with the overall product schedule.
- Communicate design solutions and detailed knowledge to peers, supervisor and product managers in an effective manner.
Skills/Experience
Essential requirements -
- Extensive experience in the use of CAD tools for PCB Design
- Experience of Mentor Graphics Expedition PCB layout including DxDesigner and CES
Desirable requirements -
- Familiarity with Autorouting tools
- Knowledge of high speed digital and mixed signal physical design
- Experience with Multi-layer, with microvias, flexi-rigid, surface mount, through-hole, blind and buried vias
