Description

  • Good architectural/high level understanding of:
    • Data Protection and Storage technologies
      • Storage methods and principles, ideally Dell Data Domain knowledge
      • Storage platforms, ideally Dell EMC products incl. Unity
      • Storage networking, ideally Brocade Switches & fabric configuration Knowledge of business recovery processes
    • Windows Infra
    • Linux Infra
    • Virtualisation platforms, ie VMware
    • Network Technical knowledge
      • Firewall configuration
      • Networking configuration & protocols (eg OSPF)
    • Secure environments
    • Security Controls awareness
  • Hands-On Windows/Linux experience
  • Knowledge of data backups methods & formats, associated backup platforms, software and monitoring of backups (health checks)
  • Ability to liaise with other technical/engineering stakeholders and conduct structured troubleshooting of backup/technical issues
  • Experience developing and executing/managing Test Plans
  • Strong consulting & reporting skills
  • Comfortable engaging technical/business stakeholders
  • Ability to conduct workshops and drive requirements/define methodology
  • Strong documentation/presentation skills:
    • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • ITSM (Service Management) knowledge/awareness incl. service Quality Assurance & SLA Measurement/Management
  • Experience in an IT Operational role, managing or running business critical service(s)
  • Knowledge of Dell Cyber Recovery Solution (CRS) or similar products/services highly beneficial
  • Can understand and relay technical solution/services to other technical/non-technical stakeholders in English also highly beneficial

Additional broader skillsets -

  • Requirements definition for operationalising recovery solutions
  • Ability to understand customer environments at a high level (what needs data protection, critical materials etc.)
  • Knowledge of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, Resilience, Business Impact Analysis and Class of Services/Business priorities
  • Ability to conduct Application Dependency mapping and dataset prioritisation
  • Capacity management knowledge/experience
  • Have knowledge of Operational Transformation, ability to identify what is required to optimise/enhance an operating model
  • Commercially aware, ability to understand and be able to interpret Statement of Work (SOW)/commercial agreements
    • Understand what is in/out of scope and how to manage within these parameters/exceptions
  • RunBooks - Onboarding processes and operationalisation/author & maintain associated documentation
  • Current state/Future state roadmap creation and/or input

Training & Certifications

  • Various technical training & certifications demonstrate a level of compliance/understanding
  • ITIL awareness/certifications are always advantageous
  • Dell provide various training and certifications for Dell products which can be further discussed and procured if required (Dell recommended)
