Suspension System Engineer - Remote and Hasselt, Belgium - Dutch speaking

One of our Blue Chip Clients is urgently looking for a Suspension System Engineer.

For this role you can initially work remotely, but once the COVID restrictions have been lifted you will then need to spend some time in Hasselt, Belgium.

Please find some details below:

1) Customer interaction (vehicle level and chassis level knowledge that may involve design recommendations/steering the customer)

2) Calculation and cascading requirements (calculations in eg ADAMs, FEA, etc. to define required loads and geometry/suspension travel/kinematics etc.) Knowledge of road load data processing, damage calculations etc. Knowledge of ride height tolerances in order to drive spring categorization, knowledge of fundamental spring characteristics, sideload calculations and tolerances, stress corrosion, spring rates vs wheel rates etc. Robustness to environmental tests (cold performance, salt spray, galvanic corrosion, muddy water, humidity etc.)

3) Component requirements/drawings - defined materials and tolerances with interfaces to carry loads robustly and with no interface issues (typically wear, friction, noise etc).

4) Supplier liaison and development (steering and guiding best value/robust interfaces, clearly defining R&Rs of interfaces understanding general lead times for changes in different components etc.

5) Internal validation (test set up especially with road load data validation, validation of module performance, strut sideload compensation, air spring module air tightness, correlation with in car performance etc.

Please send CV for full details and immediate interviews. We are a preferred supplier to the client.
