Work within the Network Transport Engineering team responsible for design and strategic direction for Networking Technologies and product lines. Liaising closely with all engineering and Architecture teams globally.
Cisco code testing and certification C9K, N9K
BGP Routing evaluation between campus and Data Centres
Enhancement of configuration management tool (CTM)
New Data Centre Strategy including cloud connectivity
Zero Touch Deployment automation of Cisco devices
Deliver fully certified code into release management. Transport Engineering to approve.
Test, document and present to team. Transport Engineering to approve.
Enhanced capabilities and increased coverage. Transport Engineering to approve.
Document and present proposals to senior management. Transport Engineering to approve.
Documented solutions for C9K product line. Transport Engineering to approve.
Strong experience with SDN platforms (Cisco ACI, Nokia Nuage VSP, Vmware NSX), NFV, Network Automations, Cloud Deployment Models (eg IaaS, EaaS and Paas), Public Cloud offerings (MS Azure, AWS, Google Cloud and IBM Softlayer) are required.
Routing/Switching & TCP/IP skills: 5 years' experience at CCIE level or equivalent to include BGP, OSPF, QoS, WAN
and Wireless Technologies.
Complete understanding of network technologies from low level (10-Gigabit Ethernet, Infiniband) to protocols (RDMA, TCP/UDP) with the ability to do packet analysis.
Thorough understanding of multicast, ranging from design, to advanced troubleshooting, Application Delivery, IP Telephony, Video over IP, Network Management Systems: Good understanding.
Network Security knowledge: Good understanding of protocols
Writing technical documents: Good report writing skills
Operation and implementation: A few years work experience
Design experience: Minimum of 3 years
Technical lead experience: for a number of projects
Work closely with application development and business users to develop technology solutions for latency sensitive applications.
