IT Virtualisation & Storage Engineer (Vmware/HP 3Par/Nimble)
PLEASE NOTE: This contract will fall inside IR35.
My prestigious client requires an IT Infrastructure Engineer with strong Storage and virtualisation skills to join their London office on an initial 3 month contract. Experience in cloud technology (Azure) would also be desirable.
Core Duties & Required Experience:
- Monitor and maintain core physical and virtual infrastructure (VMWare/Azure/Cloud).
- Monitor and maintain the storage infrastructure HP 3Par, HP Nimble and MSA storage solutions, NetApp dealing with security updates, performance tuning, capacity forecasting, backup and replication.
- The build of all new systems physical, virtual VMWare/Azure/Cloud.
- Constantly review and improve the security posture and external security rating. - Ensure that proposed infrastructure architecture/design are aligned with policies.
- Monitor and maintain HP blade chassis with HP blades, again including performance analysis and firmware upgrades.
- Maintain and advise on the backup Infrastructure Commvault, Veeam.
- Physical engineering presence for installation of new infrastructure hardware and break fix of storage and compute.
- Provision and configuration of physical and virtual Servers VMWare, Azure. Maintaining master templates, ARM, auto build scripts.
- Maintenance of VMware Host Profiles and Patching.
- VMware Automation with vRealize Orchestrator and PowerCLI.
- Maintain development VDI environment VMware Horizon View.
