12 month contract
Scope of Service: To undertake Type Approval/Certification for client vehicles with regards to powertrain certification; fuel economy, tailpipe emissions testing and OBD.
Planning, testing, compiling relevant technical information and facilitating compliance for future and current projects.
Key Deliverables:
Support and Lead Certification approval of assigned subjects and markets.
  • To work proactively with the engineering functions to ensure that legislative and certification requirements are designed-in at the earliest appropriate stage.
  • To ensure that any unique requirements are captured within the vehicle specification, and to liaise with Group partners tasked with delivering and securing approvals.
  • To work with functional system owners to ensure that all required component and systems are appropriate for given projects.
  • To ensure that all required approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
Delivery of projects
  • Responsible for Type Approval/Certification of systems and market specific data which, when introduced in to production, are safe, compliant with regulations and otherwise fit for purpose (including product liability requirements) and which satisfy Manufacturing, Service and Conformity of Production requirements.
  • Responsible for planning, monitoring and expediting specified tests through liaison with Group partners and external suppliers.
  • Responsible for the generation and submission of System Approval documents and Type Approval/Certification of vehicles and systems.
Key Skills:
  • Experience and knowledge of Gasoline & Hybrid powertrain systems and certification activities related to those systems.
  • Experience specific to this is preferred, other closely related experience will be considered.
  • The candidate needs to have an eye for detail and a structured approach to work.
  • Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums.
  • Experience of Tailpipe Emissions testing.
  • Ability to solve problems
  • The primary focus is Emissions powertrain certification.
  • Therefore, an understanding of emissions and engine testing requirements are core to the role.
