Description

Role: Contract Lead Data Engineer

Length: 6 months

Location: Cardiff (Mainly remote)

Rate: Negotiable

IR35 Status: Outside

Our client is looking for a Contract Lead Data Engineer to assist them on an ongoing project for an initial 6-month period.

Milestones within the contract:

  • Months 1 & 2 - Database schema design complete, dev and prod DB's productionised
  • Months 3 & 4 - ETL abstraction layer implemented, all dataflows complete
  • Month 5 - sematic models build and available for reporting
  • Month 6 - support with presentation layer build

    • Tasks that will be undertaken during the contract:

  • Review job stories and refactor requirement statements where unclear
  • Confirm high level solution design
  • Coordinate with central IT to establish dev and production environments
  • Create database project
  • Create database schema
  • Implement source control via GitHub
  • Design ETL packages
  • Design tabular semantic models
  • Implement dataflows
  • Merge data from Legacy sources into new Datawarehouse solution
  • Implement process auditing eg, tracking job completion, notifying team of dataflow errors etc

    • Skills and experience required:

    • MS SQL 2016 or higher
    • SQL Server Integration Services
    • SQL Server Analysis Services - tabular
    • GitHub
    • DAX
    • R or Python
    • SSDT 2017 or Visual Studio equivalent
