Description
An urgent requirement has arisen for a Technical Support Engineer to work in the Gloucester area on an initial 2 month contract looking to start ASAP. The successful candidate will play a leading role in our customers execution of Technology strategy and function as regional Level 2 escalation support for the global Level 1 Enterprise IT support team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare hardware devices and configuration sets for deployment
- Work in partnership with 3rd party IT vendors to facilitate Retail and Corporate IT buildout activities in varied environments
- Take ownership of IT demand planning activities related to hardware and service deployment for Retail locations and work with vendors to ensure timely fulfilment
- Prepare workstations and perform installation of hardware and peripherals; carry out basic upgrades and repairs
- Maintain IT hardware and configuration inventory, related auditing activities
- Assist with upgrades and maintenance to regional network and storage infrastructure
- Assist in supporting Retail & Operations business functions as first point of escalation for IT support, utilizing web conferencing apps, email/IM, service desk, face-to-face interactions
- Contribute to global internal and external global Helpdesk KB; identify any deficiencies
