Detailed Job title: Data Engineer - Big Query, Airflow, GCP
Duration: 4 Month contract (OUTSIDE IR-35)
Location: Remote
Are you a Big Query expert? Have you got excellent experience with Airflow? Do you know best practices for cloud migrations?
Sentinel are working with an industry leading organisation looking to finish there migration from DB2 to Google Big Query, the project is nearing it's closing stages and we are looking for some experience extra hands to help reach the finish line.
The steps have been laid out with a road map to finish, you'll have excellent experience with Big Query and orchestrate your pipelines with Airflow.
Responsibilities:
As the Engineer you will be responsible for building the Big Query DW and migrating the data from DB2.
- Migration from DB2 to Big Query
- Orchestrating pipelines in Airflow
- Optimisation of Cloud and Data Warehouse querying
Skills & Experience:
We are looking for someone who has experience in a Big Query environment with a passion for data and getting projects finsihed.
If you have a strong mix of the following skills and experience:
- GCP cloud experience
- Big Query experience (preferably on a migration)
- Passion for data and impacting a business with data
- Airflow pipeline orchestration Experience with ETL
Highly Desirable:
- DB2
