Contract Linux Systems Administrator and Support Engineer - 12months+

We are looking for a contract Linux Infrastructure Support & Systems Administration engineer to work as an integral part of a team providing support & management of the Linux/Windows and web infrastructure for a large internal division of the company. Please note that this is a technical hands-on role involving traditional server rooms etc & NOT the cloud and therefore you will need a background of Linux on Server racks etc.
Possible opportunity to work from home 2 days a week once settled into the role - flexibility required.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):-
- Manage the Linux & Windows infrastructure for a large internal department
- Installation of IT server equipment based as required
- Operating system installation and on-going day-to-day system management
- Package management and update deployment of operating systems
- Troubleshooting with end-users and other key IT staff
- Documentation and training end-users and other administrators
- Provide support, configuration and development of the web services
Experience required:
- Proven background in Linux Support & Systems Administration
- Current or very recent "Puppet" tool experience
- GIT
- IT Networks
- Centos
- Server room support experience
- Excellent communication skills
The contract is initially for 12 months, although may extend for a further 3 - 6 months & please note that this role falls within IR35 determination and is offering a pay rate of circa £450 - £480 p/day depending upon relevant experience etc - although we do work to transparent agency margins & this will be disclosed upon representation to the client
