AWS Engineer - Kubernetes/Terraform
A Leading FS company are looking to hire an experienced AWS Engineer, ideally with some specific knowledge of Kubernetes & Terraform, amongst other DevOps technologies.
£650 - £750 a day (Inside IR35)
3- 6 month contract
London based ideally with half the week in the office and half the week remotely (bit of flex both ways)
Deliverables
Working on a new infrastructure within a new AWS account for the impairment team to host a new version of the IFRS9 model
- Working on infrastructure as code platform development (Terraform, Kubernetes)
- Setting up development, test and production environments to host Py-Spark, Airflow, Dremio tooling
- Working with Data Engineers, Credit Risk Data Science, Front End Engineers and data designers, to deliver computational environments that meet the needs of the developers and users.
- Working within the best practice DevOps principles and ensuring that these are followed and championed within the team
Any background in networking would be a plus, but not vital.
Agile ways of working, sprints etc. They want someone who is very much into automation etc. The teams they support are internal customers who are very data focused (Data Science, Pyspark, Hashcorp, Airflow, Machine Learning etc)
Key Skills
Good knowledge of computer networks including cloud networks, transit gateway and VPCs
- Knowledge of AWS infrastructure & services
- Exposure to Continuous Integration & Deployment methodologies
- Excellent Linux Scripting skills
- Solid experience of Terraform, Ansible, git flow
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins
- Good knowledge of virtualisation/containerisation
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies
- AWS tools such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, EMR, Batch or Athena
- AWS Landing Zone Experience, AWS SCP, IAM and EMR
Experience in using ELK Stack - Elasticsearch and Kibana
