Domain Architect (IoT, Smart technologies)

CONTRACT - 3 months initial - £625 PER DAY OUTSIDE IR35 - Remote + Some days in Winchester

Enterprise Architect needed with solid experience within telco/utilities industries, including SMART metering or similar. Candidates must have Experience working within Utilities Technology domain including communications solutions

Role

  • Work with Enterprise Architecture to formulate the Utilities roadmaps to support the business strategy and our relevant data and analytics growth ambitions.
  • Build enduring relationships with outsource and supplier partners, security, data governance, analytics, engineering, platform operations and other key stakeholders (eg product managers and customer experience) to solve unique, complex and high impact challenges.
  • Develop and ensure the adoption of best practice in architecture and systems engineering standards and procedures.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and design solutions to meet agreed specifications.
  • Own a technology domain in its entirety, be the domain subject matter experts providing technical expertise to programmes and project, solution architects and designers.
  • Plan technical and architecture development and modifications and recommend process, product or service improvements.
  • Apply quality assurance processes to ensure that end-to-end technical designs and builds meet technical requirements and standards; and identify and control technical risks and issues.
  • Produce estimates and concept design in response to demand.
  • Participate in the full cycle of pre-sale activities, including RFP processing, proposal development and direct communications with new and existing customers.
  • Provide technical leadership across delivery programmes and projects team, sharing knowledge and skills and providing mentoring support to engineers and technicians.
  • Be able to coordinate architects, designers and developers to successfully solve technical problems.

Requirements

  • TOGAF or similar certification required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive level presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
  • Ability to identify and define requirements for a wide range of applications and business outcomes, including functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Experience in engaging with and leading external outsource and supplier delivery.
  • Significant solution architecture experience operating at the domain level, owning architecture or engineering domains.
  • Extensive experience developing technical solutions, including developing requirements from business to systems and components
  • Excellent stakeholder and external partner management and engagement skills
  • Experience of at least one industry leading architecture framework, eg TOGAF/TM Forum Frameworks
  • Experience of Architecture modelling and graphical representations and abstractions, including the ability to develop and build models based on recognised domain architecture frameworks
