Test Platform Architect- HIL Designs - Electrical Engineering
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services requires Test Platform Architects to be based in their client's office in Gaydon, Coventry UK.
This is a 2+ year temporary contract to start on 15th Oct 2021.
This role is for a Test Platform Architect within the Electrical Engineering Department. This is a critical role for delivering new products and programs across multiple present and future releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Defines the technical rig capability development aligned to product roadmap and wider global HIL capability (ensures consistency)
- Reviews product requirements, network topologies and designs the HIL rig architecture ( inc Power, IO and Compute, Fault insertion, logging capability)
- Defines the test architecture & platform to include capability enablers hardware, software and model integration.
- Implementation of data extraction (reports, test verdicts, logs, measurements) connected to specified data pipelines
- Creates, manages, and delivers the test platform on time to budget working closely with internal and external suppliers.
- Management of rig delivery plans (parts, capabilities, setup and debugging) holds and publishes timing plans and communicates part/equipment shortages.
- Supports more complex Rig Issue investigation and plans/resolves systemic reliability and performance issues
- Owns safety requirements and conducts safety assessment
Key Requirements
Essential:
- 7+ years in total experience
- 3+ years of Relevant experience in Functional Safety domain
- Good verbal and written communications
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Lead Test platform strategy and physical specification of the test environment, instrumentation, measurement technologies, communication protocols, models and appropriate Real Time test platform.
- Be able to coach others in HIL Designs & Strategy HIL Rig Scalability, Reliability and Modular Flexibility, Rig Issues & Fixes, Safety Assessments
- Experience in Test platform capability and validation techniques
- Experience in Test data analysis and drive continuous improvement
- Perform Test platform instrumentation and setup measurement frameworks
- Model creation and integration
- Good understanding and experience in Validation environments such as dSpace ControlDesk, Configuration Desk, Model Desk, Motion Desk tools.
- Network simulation supporting CAN, LIN, FR and automotive Ethernet protocols
- Expertise in Matlab Simulink, dSpace control desk, NI VeriStand and/or Vector Canoe
- Ability to use Automation script programming skills using tools such as Python, Automation desk and/or VTestStudio
Desirable:
- Experience in Automotive Engineering Delivery and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
- Experience in working with large teams delivering verification and validation platform and services.
