Spring are currently looking for a Network Architect.

This is a 6 month initial contract based inside of IR35.

Based out of Wokingham but will be majority remote working.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides technical direction for the design of systems solutions to effectively meet business needs. Provides leadership for the solution design of projects that address business needs. This includes the examination of multiple solution options.
  • May provide specific subject matter expertise input into the conceptual architecture for large and complex projects.
  • Authors macro level technical designs that define how the functional requirements will be technically enabled.
  • Provides guidance to an extended project team related to the solution and technical design. Assists and advises project teams in the configuration, testing, implementation and support of technical solutions.
  • Authors sizing and detailed estimates for new project requests. May participates in the creation of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models for large and complex projects. Maintains estimate artifacts for the solution designs throughout the project life cycle.
  • Maintains expert knowledge in specific business applications/services supporting a given domain.
  • Provides technical subject matter expertise and insight related to the specific business applications/services in a given domain.
  • Provides input into design best practice methodologies and standards.

Key Experience

  • Experience interpreting functional needs and writing or editing solution designs for new systems, systems changes or system enhancements.
  • Previous experience in the design phase of systems projects.
  • Specific packaged application and/or technology experience in alignment with specific Network domains
  • Exposure to technology design best practices which includes Performance, Security, Availability, as well as Operations, Monitoring and Support.
  • Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley and PCI policies and controls.
  • Basic functional understanding of the business processes supported in a given domain's business applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work both independently and within cross functional project teams that span multiple time-zones.
