Role: Senior Electronics Engineering Consultant (Signal Processing/DSP specialism)
Location: mixture of onsite (Southampton) and remote
Duration: Initial 6 months with likely extensions
Start: ASAP
Clearance: Current or eligible for UK SC Level Security Clearance
Modis is looking for an Electronics Engineer with signal processing knowledge to join a client based in Southampton. This project is working on aircraft SATCOM and Mesh radio network solutions.
You will initially focus on the signal processing aspects of the communications waveform, to be implemented on laboratory and aircraft concept demonstrators in later stages of the project. You will provide technical support throughout the product life cycle including design implementation, integration and test, system trials and product delivery.
- You will be responsible for delivery of specific work packages focussed on signalling processing supporting the communications waveform definition and system emulation.
- Modelling of signal processing candidate architectures to determine the optimal waveform solution.
- Documentation of analysis supporting waveform solution.
- Support development of laboratory demonstrator hardware.
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge of signal processing/Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts.
- Experience in signal processing (eg University or industry projects).
- Ability to use signal processing modelling/simulation tools (eg MATLAB or other signal processing development software).
- Ability to produce detailed technical reports.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge/experience of specific FPGA/DSP implementations.
- Board level design experience including PCB design tools.
- Experience in system level and sub-system integration and debug.
