3rd Line Support Engineer required for a 3 month contract (possibility of extending) based in Chelmsford, Essex.

Working inside of IR35 for a well-established NHS organisation, you will take responsibility for the provision and security of 3rd line services which include but are not limited to Networks (SAN, LAN, WAN, iSCSI, Telephony and IP Telephony), VmWare, applications and reporting systems.

Key responsibilities:

  • To take responsibility for identifying the operational requirements for efficient and cost-effective network services, having particular regard for the need to ensure that the reliability and resilience of such services is consistent with the clinical and business continuity requirements of the Trust and their providers.
  • To plan specific network/server infrastructure installations, maintenance and upgrades which may impact across the Trust following the Change Management Procedure. For example to ensure that network infrastructure is in place for the delivery of new IT systems, which will require planning and co-ordination.
  • To develop, test and improve the performance of the IT Service Continuity, disaster recovery systems and processes and ensure adherence to the processes developed.
  • To investigate new technologies and advise ITT Strategy and Projects on how the Trusts Network security can be improved.
  • To manage the provision of appropriate intrusion detection and prevention systems to identify and prevent ongoing and developing threats to the availability and performance of the Network Infrastructure.

For this role you must have the following experience:

  • Have an extensive knowledge in all Cisco Networking technologies including Routing, Switching, Wireless LAN, Voice and Security solutions.
  • Must be specialised in VMWare virtualisation infrastructure.
  • Must have Sound technical knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory for services integration and should be capable of administering Windows Server Service/Active Directory.

This role is to start ASAP and will pay between £20 - £26 per hour Umbrella (inside of IR35) depending on your level of experience.
