Description

A Business Intelligence Specialist is required for our client, working remotely, for an initial 3 month contract (possibility of extending).

The post holder will be responsible for leading the development of an intelligence delivery plan to inform a longer-term support offer to the directorate.

Our client requires a skilled and experienced data and intelligence professional to develop a delivery plan to meet their reporting, intelligence and data analytical needs. This work will provide valuable interim capacity to their Intelligence and Performance Service to help them continue to change and improve the data and intelligence culture.

The post holder will be required to:

  • Scope intelligence priorities across agreed key lines of enquiry for the directorate and agree these with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Review existing datasets, databases and systems to understand data availability, accessibility, quality and structure
  • Identify opportunities for improved data collection, storage and processing
  • Assess existing resources (including business continuity arrangements) for the provision of data, intelligence and insights
  • Provide a data development and intelligence delivery plan which describes how intelligence priorities can be delivered; including timeframes and resources, potential 'quick wins' and opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness.

Experience required

  • Demonstrable experience of design, development and delivery of data analytics or Business Intelligence solutions.
  • The ability to work closely with colleagues at all levels to review existing data sources, databases and systems.
  • The ability to apply technical, data analytical and intelligence understanding.
  • Experience of working with a wide range of data types and data sources including both structured and unstructured data.
  • The ability to technically assess the quality, accessibility, interoperability, structure and complexity of a range of data sources including relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience of delivering efficiencies through data automation projects.
  • Experience of business process mapping and data flow modelling within a complex environment.
  • A thorough understanding of the data analytical life cycle and how data analytics can be used effectively to prioritise activities and deploy resources.
  • Good working knowledge of the functionality and capabilities of Business Intelligence and visual analytics tools such as Tableau.
