FPSG's Client are going from strength to strength with further expansion plans requiring the Day Rate Contract hire of an Infrastructure & Server Manager working in a Windows and Linux environment. This key role will see you responsible for coordinating the delivery of the IT infrastructure & user experience services to all employees, contractors and guests when on-site in the North East of England, near Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Global/Enterprise applications and Infrastructure services team ensuring successful delivery of the site's infrastructure, server management, BackUp and Disaster Recovery services plus business support as required.

  • Coordinating efforts between global infrastructure teams and local resources (either Deskside Support, Service Desk engineers, or 3rd party vendors) to ensure IT related issues resolved in time and within user's expectations.

  • Ensure that processes are defined and well applied for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem and Capacity Management.

  • Support Data Centre Upgrades and New Server Provisioning to Integrate applications into the Group and improve network resilience plus security.

  • Manage Active directories, SCCM provisioning, machine imaging and security patching.

  • Manage 3rd party local service providers that are responsible for infrastructure support & Services.

  • Proactively monitor & review current infrastructure services and propose solutions to increase service level, performance and user experience as required.

  • Work in close cooperation with global Infrastructure & User Experience team to be aligned on overall strategy and delivery of services.

  • Be an escalation point for user complaints and issues for the site related IT Infrastructure.

  • When required, assist Service Desk or act as Deskside engineer on issues that requires immediate attention or when working with VIP person.

  • Capable of creating and developing reports to support business process change and new initiatives.

  • Ensure the local deskside engineers are aligned with global strategy, know how service should be provided and have access to the tools, knowledge and images required to perform their roles.

  • For some unpredicted or new activities, related to infrastructure & User Experience, act as local key contact person and coordinate everyone efforts (or even perform necessary activities, as required on local site).

  • The role requires meticulous attention to detail and for all work to be conducted and documented in accordance with company Policies, Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).

  • Role requires flexibility around working hours where Infrastructure Upgrades with potential to affect Network Performance or Availability need to be conducted outside of normal office hours.

  • Familiarity with management of IT Infrastructure and generating compliance documentation in a heavily regulated environment.

Skills & Experience needed:

Experience with Windows and Linux platforms.

Good SQL skills.

Expertise in Microsoft Active Directory and Domains.

Hyper-V/VMware Virtual Environments; Networking/TCPIP.

Knowledge of Firewalls, IT Security and AV.
