A senior Azure Data Engineer is needed for a 2+years contract with a household name in Lincoln, NE. This is a 100% remote job and a perfect opportunity for 1099 or C2C.

Our selected candidate is someone with the following abilities and qualifications:
Abilities:
Prepare design specifications and functional documentation for assigned Datawarehouse projects.
Analyze Legacy and current systems and create technical documentation and source to target mapping document.
Perform space management and capacity planning for azure storage environment.
Optimize database systems for performance efficiency.
Have regular interaction with business team to understand the functional requirements and translate them into technical specification document and subsequently perform the coding of database and ETL artifacts.
Create processes in ADF and Synapse for ETL loading.
Troubleshoot Azure data pipelines and fixes the code issues as needed.
Analyze the required Azure process for performance tuning and come up with solutions to improve the runtime and run the process cost effectively.
Analyze on premises SSIS and SQL Stored Procedures and migrate them to cloud efficiently.
Design, configure, deploy, and evolve robust, secure, and optimized Azure enterprise-scale cloud data solutions (Azure Data Lake, SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Azure Functions.
Support of automation efforts to improve version control and to accelerate releases using Azure devops.
Ensure data quality and integrity in databases.
Identify any issues related to performance and provide corrective measures.
Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development.
Promotes strong quality practices by performing unit testing and providing appropriate level of support for user acceptance testing, as needed
Eagerness to learn new tool/technologies quickly and start working immediately.
Strong analytical skills that include working directly with business staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements.
Qualifications:
- At least eight (8) years full life cycle web-based software development experience. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least five (5) years SQL experience. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least four (4) years of experience using Azure Data Services(Azure SQL, Azure Data factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks) Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least four (4) years of experience in Datawarehousing projects. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least 2 years of Azure Data migration implementation experience. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least five (5) years of development experience writing complex SQL queries and Stored Procedures working with MS SQL Server 2008 and above. E xperience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least four (4) years of experience in data integration with complex ETL jobs/packages/ADF and Synapse pipeline using multiple source and target systems. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least three (3) years of experience in writing unit test scripts and executing them. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least three (3) years of experience in SQL performance tuning. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least three (3) years of experience in creating technical documentation. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least three (2) years of experience with automation Scripting using windows,python or Unix Scripts. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least three (3) years of experience in SQL and ETL performance tuning. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- At least three (3) years of experience in code promotion and version control in Azure Devops etc .. Experience must be current in the last 12 months.
- Strong collaborative skills, service oriented, and strong interpersonal skills with various levels of business and technical staff.
- Experience in ARM templates, Azure data migration, cloud cost optimization.
- Experience with Data catalog and governance tools
