Senior Microsoft 365 Operations Engineer
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires a Senior Microsoft 365 operations engineer to be based in their client's office in London. This is a 6month temporary contract to start on 1st November.
Job Purpose
- Operations, third level support and administration of Microsoft 365 core components
- Assist with evaluation, solution design and implementation of new Microsoft 365 platform related capabilities, automation and governance controls
Key Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Operations, third level support and administration of Microsoft 365 core platform (non-service specific, such as licensing, access management, monitoring, reporting, governance controls, log management)
- Continuous development of the Microsoft 365 core platform, including identifying, evaluating, and deploying new platform capabilities, processes, and solutions to meet stakeholder demands
- Management of evergreen changes on the Microsoft 365 core platform
- Drive operational excellence and automation
- Stay up to date of new and upcoming technologies and developments in the Microsoft 365 Cloud and related Azure capabilities
- Develop Intranet Portal Collaboration site and Branding on SharePoint online platform.
- Use SharePoint Framework SPFx, page layouts, themes, and display templates.
- Code pages using client side scripts - HTML5, JavaScript and Typescript - React, jQuery, CSS & Bootstrap.
- Build landing page, master page, templates/pages, newsletter, banner and videos.
- Implement and deploy Intranet portal site on SharePoint online.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies and Jira
- Good problem-solving skills, excellent coding/debugging skills
- Familiar with SharePoint product and technologies and few migration tool like Sharegate
- 5 Years relevant experience required
- Good experience of the Microsoft 365 cloud ecosystem and relevant/neighbouring
- Azure areas (eg Log Analytics, Azure automation)
- Very strong Scripting and automation skills (PS, C#, .Net, etc)
- Strong PowerBI skills for reporting
- Strong understanding about the underlying components in the space of Identity and Access
- Management, Azure Active Directory as well as authorization and authentication concepts
- Good understanding and hands-on experience with Office 365 architecture, administration and best practices combined with current knowledge and background of collaboration solutions
- Good understanding on cloud networking and performance topics
- Good understanding of Cloud Security and Cloud Governance area
- Good understanding of Azure Data Factory and data analytics a plus
- Good communication skills
- Self-starter - finds ways to solve a problem, either individually or with help from peers
- Comfortable in complex environments
- Experience in a global, multi-national enterprise, preferably in the insurance and financial sector
- Open mindedness and willingness to adapt, grow and learn with requirements
- Experience working in agile SCRUM methodology a plus
