IP Network Operations Engineer - Mobile Data

Our client, a global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced CCNP, NRS I & II or JNCIA Certified IP Network Operations Engineer to join their team in their clients' office in London.

This is a 6 month temporary contract, to start ASAP.

The right candidate should have minimum 6 years' relevant experience and good understanding of Mobile Data technologies and the Charging and Billing for Data related services, including the on line and offline charging, PCEF, and PCRF nodes within the mobile architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle the network, Servers and network connected equipment
  • Identify and repair the internal and external communications of network/server/system
  • Execute fault isolation and diagnostic functions to ensure the execution of corrective actions on a Real Time basis
  • Act as a Technical Specialist for troubleshooting and incident management during service interruptions

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years' relevant experience
  • CCNP, NRS II & II or JNCIA accreditation
  • Planning and design experience
  • Understanding of Mobile Data technologies and the Charging and Billing for Data related services, including the on line and offline charging, PCEF, and PCRF nodes within the mobile architecture
  • Network knowledge and skills in the areas of IP, UDP, TCP, Gn/S5/S8, Radius, DIAMETER (including Gx, Gy and Sy protocols)
  • Solid Technical knowledge of 3G, 4G and 5G NSA networks specifically the PS and CS core networks and how they integrate to the Real Time rating platforms
  • Understanding of NFV architecture, components and EPC virtualization functions
  • Knowledge of systems to include Manage Now (Spark), INCA, SevOne, Insight & Planning BMS (along with knowledge in Scripting using Python 3)
  • Experience of configuring Switches and Routers to integrate them to a live network, as well as troubleshoot any unforeseen problem that could be encountered
  • Experience of CLI and terminal sessions on multi-vendor platforms
  • Pragmatic, logical approach to problem solving
  • Well-honed all round computer skills
  • Having good verbal and listening communication skills is prerequisite to be able to document and hand over to others with the necessary detail to ensure continuity of work

Nice to have:

  • Some knowledge of ETSI MANO framework, VNF life cycle and Linux
