Senior DevOps Engineer- 6 month contract- Cloud technology (Azure)/Scripting (PowerShell)/Pipeline configuration (TeamCity and Octopus Deploy)/Windows Servers/SQL

Submission Deadline- Friday 22nd October at 12pm

Rate to Contractor - 645.00 per day (Via an Umbrella Service- Role falls Inscope of IR35)

London based client - mixture of remote and onsite working.

SmartSourcing are currently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to work for one of our most prestigious clients. This is to ensure the support and maintenance of our clients software through tools, environments, and practices. Our client are embarking on a large-scale transformation of which DevOps culture and continuous improvement form core components.

The successful applicant will establish standards and procedures across a service life cycle include the development life cycle and ensures that practitioners adhere to this. This will involve managing resources to ensure that the systems integration function works effectively.

Key Responsibilities/Skill Set-

Strong experience across Cloud technology (Azure), Scripting (PowerShell), Pipeline configuration (TeamCity and Octopus Deploy), Windows Servers and SQL.

Development process optimisation - Able to identify process optimisation opportunities with guidance to contribute to the implementation of proposed solutions.

Modern standards approach - Strong understanding and application of the most appropriate modern standards and practices. Takes responsibility for coaching and guiding others.

Programming, build and service support - Collaborates with others when necessary to review specifications and uses these agreed specifications to design, code, test and document programmes or scripts of medium to high complexity, using the right standards and tools. Demonstrates a breadth of understanding of service support.

Systems design and integration - Will design systems characterised by medium levels of risk, impact and business or technical complexity. Selects appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensures they are applied effectively.

User focus - Able to collaborate with user researchers and can sell and represent users internally. Understands the difference between user needs and desires of the user. Able to champion user research to focus on all users. Can prioritise and defines approaches to understand the user story, guiding others in doing so.

Excellent teambuilding and management skills - Able to lead, coach and mentor junior colleagues as part of their day-to-day work. Focused on capability building for DevOps Engineers, talent pipelines and wider team succession planning.
