Application Technical Specialist, App Specialist, Windows, SQL, Release, Environment, Configuration, Agile
Harris Global are currently looking for an Application Technical Specialist to join our leading Financial Services client. The successful candidate will have experience providing configuration, environment and release management services across the full SDLC. Must have SQL and Windows expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with projects to establish application environment requirements, providing expert knowledge on an environment set up.
- Coordinate the releases of application changes and technical solutions for core business applications across all production and test environments.
- Plan application road maps (upgrades/bug fixes) Assess suitability of application changes from vendors.
- Understand the purpose, functionality and interfaces of each core business application.
Skills:
- A good knowledge on all aspects of the running and managing of applications (installation, Windows Servers, databases, networks, IIS, security, etc)
- A good knowledge of working with SQL database components such as writing SQL queries, tables, views, stored procedures, SSRS, etc.
- Experience of the software development life cycle Experience of working within Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience of Change, Release and Environment Management practices
- An understanding of the IT Service Delivery life cycle and ITSM/ITIL Experience of ServiceNow will be advantageous.
- Any exposure to Dev-Ops Tooling: Microsoft Azure Dev-ops (specifically pipelines and build agents), Docker/Kubernetes, Azure Container Services will be advantageous.
