Role: Network Engineer
Location: West Midlands or Dorset (onsite 5 days/week)
IR35: Inside
Rate: 480/day (Umbrella)
Duration: 6 months (potential to be extended)
Security Clearance:
Active SC Essential & Sole British National (must be eligible to go through DV Clearance)
Minimum Requirement:
Essential
- Cisco Certified DevNet Professional, or CCNP Enterprise
- 3 years supporting complex campus area networks (CAN) and wide area networks (WAN) based on IP cryptography
Configuration of:
- SDN controllers, and
- SD-WAN controllers
Desirable
Certification:
- Cisco Certified DevNet Specialist - Core DEVCOR)
- Cisco Certified DevNet Associate DEVASC)
- Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Automation and Programmability ENAUTO)
- Cisco Certified DevNet Specialist - Security Automation and Programmability SAUTO)
- Cisco Certified DevNet Specialist - Collaboration Automation and Programmability CLAUTO)
- Python Certified Entry-Level Programmer (PCEP)
- Splunk Enterprise System Administrator
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) - Windows Server 2016 or,
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Experience:
- Cisco Programming for Network Engineers (PRNE)
- Implementation and administration of L3Harris cryptographic equipment (Catapan)
- Use of Ansible to automate query or configuration of network devices in a production environment
- Experience with Linux based OS and its command line interface, network logging and analysis tools. R Syslog and the interpretation and parsing of logs in particular.
- Implementation and administration of Dell networking equipment, Juniper SRX Firewall and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Implementation and administration of EIGRP, Nexus-OS and policy based routing
- Implementation and administration of encrypted IP tunnelling across various WAN types and bearer systems
- Administration of small scale virtualised networks with VMware NSX-T
- Administration of PRTG including the setting up of sensors, managing licence validity and the creation of views for network traffic monitoring and analysis
- Familiarity with Splunk as a network support enhancer. Possess the ability to search and navigate as well as create reports, alerts and dashboards. Can conduct licence management.
- Creation, verification and use of PowerShell scripts for task automation and configuration management.
- Routine administration of a small scale Windows Server environment on Hyper V, and the services of Active Directory certificate services, MDT, WSUS and network policy server
