Solaris Engineer
We are currently recruiting for a Solaris Engineer for our client who is a Global IT Service Provider. This will be on a 7 month contract based in Telford.
The Solaris Engineer will have proven experience in an implementation/support role at 2nd/3rd line level to work within the UNIX Infrastructure Support Team within the Data Centre Tower based at our high profile customer site in Telford, Shropshire.
This role sits within a team that is responsible for the Live Service Delivery of all aspects of the core infrastructure. The team support Production, Disaster Recovery, Live Acceptance Proving, Test and Development services on a 24/7 basis.
Working with a mixture of SOLARIS versions (8 to 11), you will be required to provide operating system support and maintenance for SOLARIS based systems. You will have significant Solaris 10 & 11 & Oracle hardware experience and we will require very strong working knowledge and current experience of the operating system, the ability to produce Unix Scripts and knowledge of Cloud computing principles to support the team's aims to manage, monitor and maintain our services and particularly our cloud service offerings.
Your Experience
- Proven experience in an implementation/support role at 2nd/3rd line level
- Significant Solaris 10 & 11 & Oracle hardware experience
- UNIX Scripting skills
- Knowledge of Linux (SUSE, RHEL or OEL)
- Good understanding of Storage, Networking & Cloud computing technologies
- Possession of or ability to attain SC clearance
Certifications:
- Oracle Solaris 11 System Administration (Or the Solaris 10 equivalent)
- Oracle Solaris 11 System Advanced Administration (Or the Solaris 10 equivalent)
