Cloud Support Engineer:
What this role involves
- Technical ownership of a complex, cloud-based web and video content delivery platform
- Acting as a client facing subject matter expert on the technologies used to deliver Web and Video on Demand services.
- Working with client teams to gather infrastructure requirements for new applications
- Building complex server infrastructures in both green and brown field environments following design documentation
- Development of automation tasks using Scripting tools such as Python or Bash
- Creation of environment provisioning solutions using Ansible, Terraform CloudFormation
- Implementing monitoring and reporting solutions across a range of environments and platforms.
- Producing good quality documentation following existing standards
- Leading investigation into and resolution of service impacting issues
- Collaborating with client and supplier teams to quickly and efficiently expedite the resolution of any service impacting issues
- Monitoring, trending and reporting on resource utilization to client teams; advising on ways to increase efficiency and/or security

- A broad level of knowledge over a spectrum of technologies including operating systems networking, web technologies, databases, enterprise systems management
- Extensive experience working on enterprise level, public cloud platforms: must include AWS
- Extensive experience in linux administration (Redhat/Debian/Ubuntu)
- Experience configuring and operating CDNs (Akamai and/or CloudFront) and load balancers.
- Experience with automation: Python and Bash Scripting an advantage
- Experience working with provisioning and CM tools (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with Containerisation and Container Scheduler implementation (Docker, ECS/EKS/Fargate, Swarm mode, Nomad, Kubernetes)
- Experience supporting Java applications
- At least 5 years of experience in a customer facing, support/delivery role
- An awareness of working practices such as ITIL and Agile
