Wifi Core Support Engineer - Contract - Inside IR35
Digital Skills are working with a leading Telecom provider in Berkshire. The team are growing and require support to help provide 3rd Line Technical Support on a rota basis. The role is to provide Support across Core/Wifi Networks including Data Networks and Security platforms including Cisco and Juniper Routers and Switches.
The selected candidate will manage and investigate faults, you will escalate these to the Core Support team or equipment Vendors. You will also provide workarounds, coach and mentor support engineers to increase their Technical and improve general skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Provide Second/Third Level network support
- Work on a rota basis
- Help to improve the existing infrastructure and work practices
- Be an expert in Enterprise/Wifi Core Network Support
- Implement new network elements and/or features
Technical Experience
- Experience implementing configuring, tuning and supporting Cisco, Cisco Nexus, Alcatel and Juniper Switches & Routers & Wireless Access Points
- Cisco ios-xe, ios-xr, Juniper EX/MX/QFX series.
- Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and WCS.
- Cisco ASA, Fortinet & Juniper Firewalls
- A solid understanding of routing/switching protocols and VPN Services.
- A solid understanding of MPLS protocols
- A solid understanding of Network, including WLAN and Security best practices.
- A solid understanding of F5 load balancers
Candidates should either be certified in, or able to work to professional equivalence of:
- CCNP or equivalent for Networks
- CCISP or equivalent for Networks
- CISP or equivalent for Security
You will be working as part of a large and busy team, co-ordinating restoration of a service (in a pressurised environment), with expertise across a number of engineers from different disciplines. You must be able to convey complex technical information, in a manner that Senior (non hands on) Management can easily interpret.
You must be happy working shift hours with possible site travel to fix faults.
This is a contract role, working remotely - however you must be able to travel and should be prepared to come to Berkshire.
The role is Inside IR35 and pays £445 per day to Umbrella.
