Job Title: Network Design Engineer - Fibre - Visio - Inside IR35
Location: Remote/Office Based
Salary/Rate: £450 - Inside IR35

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our leading telecommunication clients!
They are currently looking for a skilled Network Design Engineer to join their team for a six-month contract.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives:
- We are looking for someone that will thrive to become a recognised SME within Fibre Design, Engineering and Senior Management communities.
- You will be required to define and maintain physical design standards and systems, as well as ensuring that the design content meets business and customer needs and that the definitive core network infrastructure records remain secure, accurate and up to date.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Interrogate fibre records is key, cross reference to internal Fon systems (recording core fibre details).
- Gcomms (GIS system) - there are other similar systems they may have used (CAD not the same for this role). the one that city fibre use is Small World. - similar system.
- Identifying SLDs - Straight line diagrams (a cable route diagram).
- Come from an access background - might be suitable still as long as they have had core experience.
- The systems used are different to access roles.
- Needs to have fibre experience.
- Network Planner/Designer role is more common title in the marketplace.
- Visio - to reproduce cable joint layouts - needs to be familiar with this.
- Familiarly with splice enclosure diagrams.
- Exposure to ODS - survey experience, mapping tools.
- Basic use of Excel.
