A Cloud Operations Manager is required for 4 months (likely to be extended) based in London paying around £ p/d (Umbrella) Inside IR35

This is a leading role within the Infrastructure Operations team. This team concentrates on the provision, performance, management and availability of the Cloud infrastructure and services across the CSU and its customers managed estates.

The Cloud Operations Manager is accountable for the delivery of the service. This role will lead the development and deployment of a strong governance and management practices to assure the delivery of infrastructure services across private and public cloud platforms.

The Cloud Operations Manager will develop strategies for managing the hybrid cloud platforms; managing compliance with technical, regulatory and security requirements and standards. Ensuring that a catalogue of platform infrastructure services, delivered by in-house and/or 3rd party vendors, meet service level agreements.

The is role will ensure the services are monitored effectively and that identified actions to maintain and/or continuously improve levels of service are implemented.

Other key functions for this role include to review and monitor the consumption of the services to manage cost and forecast future capacity requirements and develop policies and strategies for the design, monitoring, and maintenance of services required to meet service availability targets.

Key working relationships for this role includes the Leads and Engineers across the ICT Operations team plus Change Management and Technical Governance.

Role specific duties and responsibilities

The post holder will undertake the following duties and responsibilities

* To develop, manage, lead and be accountable for the NEL ICT team Cloud Operations function.
* Work closely with the Infrastructure Services Lead to identify and establish Cloud Operations practices within NEL.
* Develop technology life cycle and release plans to facilitate investment planning and technology assurance.
* Review and monitor the consumption of the services to manage cost and forecast future capacity requirements
* Develop policies and strategies for the design, monitoring, and maintenance of services required to meet service availability targets.
* Ensure that a catalogue of platform infrastructure services, delivered by in-house and/or 3rd party vendors, meet service level agreements.
* Lead the development of strategies for managing the hybrid cloud platforms; managing compliance with technical, regulatory and security requirements and standards
* Work closely with the DevOps lead on the Continuous Improvement/Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipeline to ensure development and delivery to achieve maximum return on investment and benefit realisation
* Work across and with the Infrastructure Services team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.
