Description

A Project Engineer with considerable Rail experience is urgently required for a very large, high-profile project for one of the UK's largest service providers. You will be responsible for the full end to end development and implementation of electrical and SCADA systems.

Project Engineer Role and Responsibilities:

- Implement new Rail systems and procedures to deliver a cost effective, high quality and safe approach to design, construction, commissioning and other technical activities on relevant projects.

- Advise project and programme management in respect of all construction activities, testing and commissioning, and site supervision. Monitor whether the design and construction elements meet the requirements of legislation.

- Assure whether contractors' design, construction and specialist personnel are competent.

- Undertake reviews of design and construction activities.

- Review key programme outputs (RRD, Trial area specifications, consultation papers deployment requirements, and plans) to assure that they align with business and project requirements

- Report to the wider programme teams on progress against key deliverables & activities

- Engage with key business and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication of progress

Project Engineer Skills and Experience:

- Experience in electrical engineering disciplines, ideally with railway a.c/d.c contact systems

- Working knowledge of electrical railway infrastructure including design and operation

- Knowledge and experience in industry electrical isolation processes and procedures

- Knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations

- Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance processes, eg CSM

- Knowledge of CDM requirements

- Demonstrable experience in the design and integration of SCADA systems into a high availability environment

- Competent in the use of SCADA systems in Electrical Control System applications, and/or Railway Applications

- Knowledge of software development methods and processes.
