Description

Network Architect (75% Travel):

This strategic role will bring cybersecurity and network architectural expertise to focus on the risks that impact our global customer base. The goal of the Network Architect will be part of an Incident Response team who work with customers who are experiencing a Cyberattack and require system wide recovery assistance. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, research, evaluate, design, and develop network systems by applying engineering, hardware and software design theories and principles to develop a compatible system infrastructure in line with organization strategies
  • Interface with customer IT leadership and internal teams to develop network, systems, and security solutions. Create technically feasible solutions that are appropriate to customer requirements. Work with internal team members to review designs and determine project timelines and scheduling
  • Produce clearly written technical deliverables for both internal and external stakeholders including design diagrams and planning guides. Develop and evaluate system/network performance criteria and measurement methods
  • Propose and implement system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system
  • Understand network architectures, topologies, and networking services and protocols (eg BGP, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPSec, VLANs, VPNs, etc.)
  • Guide the activities of network engineers and associated team members for network discovery, diagrams, toolset recommendations, and physical/logical architectures
  • Create complex design artifacts including network layouts and logical/physical designs
  • Ensures proper documentation including design, procedural and lessons learned. Maintain and update existing documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert level knowledge with industry network protocols (TCP/IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VLANs, Wireless LANs and VPN)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in routing and switching protocol, WAN technologies including MPLS, Point to Point, MAN and Wireless; LAN technologies including LAN design standards and best practices, Data Center network Design and Wireless solutions; and security standards with ASA Firewall, design and best practices
  • Extremely knowledgeable of system, security and network engineering best practices and industry standards and trends
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to clearly communicate complex findings and present them to ensure audience appeal at various levels of the organization and with clients
  • Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Customer service, process and solution oriented
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • CCNP or CCIE preferred
